Bulgari is the most bizarre hotel group. It’s a luxury jewellery brand owned by LVMH – a company primarily known for selling you $5,000 handbags that cost fractions of a percentage to make and then make you beg for the

If life is about timing, Amanyara was the perfect place at the worst time.  I wish I could tell you of their brilliant facilities and activities; I wish I could show you the architecture and how it inspired the glorious

It’s fair to say I was highly sceptical of Kisawa.  It’s been featured in every magazine, from Vogue to Conde Nast to your kindergarten school newsletter and the space on the back of milk reserved for missing children.  Half the

Rumour has it that when god saw Ol Jogi, he stood up, slow clapped and said, “that’s crazier than George Santos’ CV”.  He then had to counter it with something equally as mental, so created Liz Truss.  No, I’m still

Airelles have become one of my favourite luxury hotel groups.  Their strong service ethos,  an extremely family-friendly focus blended with luxury and an emphasis on sense-of-place.  But what if the place isn’t that great? Then what do you do?  Airelles

I really hate the French.  They have better food than us Brits, better weather, a vastly superior national football team (even accounting for football coming home, a few days ago).  They don’t elect morons as Presidents, their healthcare system works,

It’s rare to experience something new.  How often do you see a new market segment created?  Social media.  Cryptocurrency.  Artificial Intelligence that’s already getting their Google overlords fired.  Basically, all the things we can’t get rid of but would be

Did your parents ever sit you down and tell you that you’re an accident?  Probably not.  We don’t all live in the This is Us world of perpetual sorrow.  Yet it turns out accidents aren’t all just something we should point, laugh

Velaa Private Island, Maldives Room type: Deluxe Beach Pool Villa Duration: 9 > 16th December, 2021 It’s been a rough few years for travel.  Not the lockdowns, I’m on about much more serious matters.  We lost North Island to Marriott,

  • A few months after opening (with Dorsia clients being their first ever guests) I decided to check out Bulgari Rome. Fortunately, they have moved away from the copy/paste formula of Milan to London to Paris and created something much more…Italian. Unfortunately that means I can’t copy/paste my Paris write-up. The review will be out next Friday. @bulgarihotels
  • As upgrades go, this four-bedroom ocean villa @amanyara_resort we stayed in last week was certainly one of my better ones. I was ill and passed out for most of the stay, so will have to go back again to truly experience it. Five bedroom next time, please and thank you.
  • With our upcoming trip to Turks and Caicos, I’m reminded how bad I am at this Instagram malarkey. I’ve not even posted of our last trip to the Caribbean, from March, so with all the enthusiasm of someone sat on the electric chair here’s @jumbybayresort
  • Little Dix might sound like a sub-genre on Pornhub but it’s actually a beautiful resort in the British Virgin Islands. You learn something new every day.
