The Brief

A busy American couple travelling with four young children and two nannies, our clients wanted to enjoy complete relaxation in some of the world’s best resorts.

Of course the settings had to be serene, spectacular and family-friendly, so we arranged an indulgent stay in two of the Maldives’ top properties, with a few fun and flashy days in Dubai en route.

The Journey

  • Dubai

Flawlessly designed and delivering a degree of sophistication and discretion that isn’t always guaranteed in Dubai’s upmarket properties, Bulgari Resort Dubai’s vast standalone villas and private beach make it a great option for families. It’s centrally located too, so proved a convenient option for the distinctively ‘Dubai’ activities we arranged for the family, including a shopping spree at a supercar showroom and private after-hours access to a Chanel store. To discover the United Arab Emirates beyond Dubai’s city limits, we took them for a day of desert adventures that included camel feeding and dune buggying, before a stargazing dinner was served by a flickering fire as dancers provided live entertainment.

  • The Maldives

Though we work with so many excellent resorts in the Maldives, when it comes to world-class magnificence we knew our family would feel most at home in Cheval Blanc Randheli, part of the LVMH group, and Velaa Private Island. Both feature picture-perfect beaches and stellar water sports facilities, superb service and best-in-the-world amenities, plus they’re only 30 minutes from each other by speedboat so can be combined effortlessly.

At Cheval Blanc Randheli our family stayed at the Owner’s Villa, which occupies its own private island and is staffed by a dedicated team on call 24/7. This is one of the world’s most rarefied resorts so we knew all of their requirements would be skillfully met, and we worked closely with the on-site team to ensure every day here featured special moments. They enjoyed the most soothing Guerlain spa treatments, exceptional French-influenced fine dining, and the simple, priceless pleasure of uninterrupted time together as a family.

At Velaa Private Island, our clients enjoyed some of the Indian Ocean’s best resort facilities, including a golf course and bracing cryotherapy sessions in the Maldives’ only snow room. Seeing countless kaleidoscopic fish in the resort’s rich waters was a highlight for the children, as was spotting dolphins and swimming with curious manta rays during private sunset cruises aboard the resort’s elegant yacht.
