News & Reviews Europe Greece Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino video walkthrough

I swear I spend half my life in a YouTube vortex, watching pointless videos about pointless things, stuck in a never-ending loop of the algorithm knowing me better than my last six therapists.  One minute I’m watching a speed eater devour a linebacker’s daily diet in ten minutes; the next, I’m deep into a conspiracy theory about squirrels running the world.  But there’s one thing I won’t watch: video walkthroughs of hotels.  I would rather watch a video on the history of paint drying.  Yet, they do have an obscene number of views.  So here’s my second attempt at it, after the last one was described by one reader as “like watching the final hour of Titanic, but with less hope and more tragedy”.

I have tried to keep this very simple and do a literal walkthrough, but editing it so it’s not as tedious as I find most to be.  Does anyone really want to watch me walk down a corridor?  Or make snarky comments as I dismantle the place.  Ok, probably the latter would help.  Maybe on the next one.

If tedious is what you’re after, please do comment and say so.  I am in the very fortunate position that I am one of only a few people who get to attend some of the best luxury resorts, private islands and villas in the world.  It feels a shame not to include videos going forward if that is what people want.  At least, I’ve finally sussed out a way of doing it without having to hire a Sherpa to carry my camera equipment everywhere.
