News & Reviews Africa Botswana Singita Elela, Botswana, opening mid-2026

This has been common knowledge for over a year, but seeing it officially confirmed on a website gives everyone that warm, fuzzy feeling. Singita Elela marks Singita’s first foray into Botswana. It involves taking over and fully rebuilding Wilderness Abu Camp from the ground up. Lucky for us, as that camp needed a lick of paint and a bulldozer. From what I’ve heard, the plans sound incredible, but I’ll save those details for when Singita is ready to spill the beans.  You can be sure I will be going.

With standout camps like Jao, Mombo, and Xigera already in place, and the debut of Botswana’s first exclusive-use property, Daunara, last year, the country is quickly becoming one of the most competitive safari destinations on the planet.
