News & Reviews Caribbean & Mexico St Barths and Anguilla, here we come

This weekend, after our stay at the newly opened The Emory, we will be heading to St Barths and Anguilla. Taking full advantage of the complimentary airport transfers offered by The Emory, the driver will be delighted to pick us up at 4 AM as we depart from Heathrow to St Martin via Paris. Then, in a bid to avoid small planes and keep Lucie happy, we’ve chartered a boat to take us to St Barths, even though I hate being on boats. Such are the sacrifices we make for marriage.

We’re visiting what are apparently the crème de la crème of resorts, with higher category suites at Eden Rock St Barths, Cheval Blanc, Le Barthelemy, and Le Toiny. Then it’s a quick hop over to Anguilla for stays at Malliouhana and Cap Juluca.  Allow me to give one of the most privileged statements of all time: I’m not particularly excited going to St Barths for three weeks.  I’m expecting it to be mediocre.  I’d rather be in the Maldives.  But alas, I have a job to do, and by god, I won’t let my feelings get in the way and stop me burning tens of thousands of dollars just to keep all three of my readers happy.  And I’ll go to the Maldives later in the year.

I will try to get a review of The Emory out quickly, while the rest will appear randomly over the coming months, as and when my brain warms up.
