As I sit in the Qatar lounge at Heathrow, waiting to board my plane to Nairobi, I thought what better use of my time before going on a trip, than to look up other trips. I will not be accused of complacency.
The big question I had was, “When does Bulgari Maldives open in 2025?” only to find out it’s delayed until 2026. That means with Rosewood already being sensible with an opening date in 2027, and Capella, the so-called best hotel group of all time, ever (no laughing at the back…and front…and everywhere) having been delayed so much it has moved into a new dimension of time that doesn’t yet exist, we’re now left with the Mandarin Oriental as the only major opening for next year. But even that has a Q4 release, meaning it ain’t gonna happen. Guess we’re all heading back to Cheval Blanc Randheli and Velaa next year. Or make our way to the Seychelles when Fregate miraculously opens on time.
